2024 Mercedes-Benz Mid-Size Van Portfolio Updated, They're All a Lot Fancier Now
The Stuttgart-based premium automaker says the refreshed EQV, V-Class, and V-Class Marco Polo MPVs are more luxurious; the 'workhorse' Vito and eVito vans now focus on sharpening their premium character.

Mercedes-Benz just released its financial results for the second quarter of the year, and things are looking great for the premium German manufacturer, mainly due to the "strong sales" of its flagship models and the performance of premium vans. For example, EVs jumped 123%, Mercedes-AMG deliveries soared 19%, G-Class sales rose 29%, and Maybach performed like a high-end charm at +39%.

Naturally, the automaker wants even more positive results, which is probably why they decided to upgrade their entire range of mid-size vans, which are now "on the road to more luxury in private life, more premium in business." Their words, not ours. Anyway, the new portfolio tries to adapt to the realities of the refocused business strategy that aims to slim down the number of nameplates.

However, as opposed to other carmakers that don't even want anything to do with the slowing sector of vans, Mercedes-Benz still has a galore of options on offer: the new EQV, V-Class, V-Class Marco Polo, eVito, and the regular Vito. In a gist, the company says these are all characterized by their "new design, additional comfort equipment, and driver assistance systems as well as more functionality (to) form the core of the attractiveness."

By the way, all five of them are supposed to align to the "differentiated strategic approach" – luxury for the first three nameplates like in any other passenger car, "a focused premium strategy" for the latter two commercial vans. And it's all supposed to happen as fast as possible – before the introduction of the modular and scalable Van Electric Architecture – VAN.EA, from 2026.

As far as the exterior design is concerned, certain trims for the EQV, V-Class, and V-Class Marco Polo get an LED-illuminated surround for the radiator grille, the V-Class Exclusive receives the independent Mercedes star on the hood for the first time, and all of them have a new front-end design with a reworked grille and bumper. At the same time, at the rear, there are new LED taillights and bumper, plus a new chrome trim strip with Mercedes-Benz lettering for EQV, V-Class, and Marco Polo.

The refreshed appearance is complemented by five new body colors and new alloy wheels sized from 17 to 19 inches. Inside the mid-size vans, there's a new cockpit arrangement with new air vents, the next generation of steering wheels "with capacitive hands-off recognition," and two 12.3-inch widescreen displays for EQV, V-Class, and Marco Polo. Meanwhile, the Vito and eVito are equipped with a 5.5-inch color display for the new instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen – and all of them now have access to MBUX.
