Remember the rugged Bentley Continental GT from earlier this year? There was some debate as to whether it was based on an actual Conti or it was in fact a Ford Mustang hiding underneath its wide body finished in khaki green. As it turns out, it's 100% a Bentley, a wild one at that. The heavily modified coupe was featured in National Geographic's Supercar Megabuild TV series and is now for sale on eBay where people are fighting to get their hands on the one-of-a-kind grand tourer.
According to the listing, about $32,300 have been invested during the transformation process to turn what used to be a perfectly nice Continental GT finished in silver into a green off-road monster. It sits on 17-inch steel wheel and has been fitted with wheel arch extensions as well as an external roll cage. The unique Bentley also boasts a roof-mounted LED light bar and a beefier suspension with adjustable shocks together with underbody skid plates to better tackle difficult terrains.
The people behind the project haven't messed around with the interior, which remains as luxurious as ever thanks to beige leather on the seats and door panels. The Continental GT comes with a ton of features, including electric and heated mirrors, automatic xenon headlights, front & rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, satellite navigation, and keyless start.
The 6.0-liter W12 engine delivering power to both axles through a six-speed automatic was last serviced at 119,000 miles (191,511 kilometers), according to the ad. Should you be interested in owning the Dakar-inspired Conti, the seller mentions it comes with a fully service history from Bentley.
With a little over four days to go until the listing expires, the Continental GT unofficially called "Rally Edition" has 63 bids so far. To submit yours, you are going to have to pay at least £30,100 (almost $39,000) for a "Bentley that will turn heads wherever you go," though not necessarily in a good way.
