Radical next-gen Nissan Juke to have a unique design
As opposed to what the Western media reports have claimed for over a year now, the Nissan Juke is not dead.

An all-new Nissan Juke is on the way, and like its predecessor, it aims to bedazzle with an outlandish design.

The Nissan Juke created a whole new market segment that is the fastest growing in some regions and markets right now. Its radical design is considered polarising, but it has compelled Nissan's rivals to think out of the box, the result of which is models like Toyota C-HR and Hyundai Kona. There's a similar thought process around designing the second-gen Nissan Juke.

In an interview with Autocar, Alfonso Albaisa, Senior VP (Global Design), Nissan, talked about the next-gen Nissan Juke's design. He said that the redesigned model "doesn't look too much like the last one (first-gen model)" and that "it doesn't look like the IMx or new Leaf either." "It's an urban meteor with a nasty attitude," the design chief said expressing his views about the future model. The all-new model is expected to feature a design inspired by the Nissan Gripz Concept.

"The second one (second-gen Nissan Juke) couldn't be derivative or evolutionary and still be a Juke. We'd almost have to change its name to 'Nancy', otherwise."

The British publication says that the all-new Nissan Juke is likely to ride on the V-platform that underpins the fifth-gen Nissan Micra. However, Nissan had confirmed in September 2015 that the next-gen Nissan Juke would use the CMF-B platform. Designed at Nissan Design Europe (London), it will debut at a motor show within months, possibly at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019.
