For the first time, Ram shows photos of the upcoming model wearing no camouflage.
The final phase of testing put the heavy haulers through the cooling test, one of the most important in terms of performance. Ram is going to let its trucks run loose in the wild and knows that people who spot them will be chasing them to get a clear shot of the upcoming model.
Instead of that blurry photo, they decided to show the first photos of the Ram Heavy Duty and Ram Chassis Cab wearing no camouflage. It may not sound like much, but the three photos they have come up with are pretty relevant since the automaker chose generous angles that show both the front and rear end of the models.
The photos show trucks with a redesigned front grille, flanked by slimmer LED headlights split in two. C-shaped LEDs show up at the rear, while the front and rear bumpers seem to carry on unchanged.
We should also expect changes in the cabin of the Ram Heavy Duty vehicles. The 12.0-inch screen should replace the smaller 8.4-inch display. A larger 14.5-inch display should also be available at an extra cost.
What we do know about the engine lineup is that the HEMI V8 is gone. However, the trucks will receive the new twin-turbocharged inline-six tuned to pump out either 420 or 540 horsepower.
The official unveiling of the 2025 Ram Heavy Duty will take place at a later date. That is when the automaker is going to reveal more information on the design, powertrain, and technology.
The Ram lineup includes the Ram 1500, 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab, and ProMaster vans. The brand brags about building trucks that get the job done and families where they need to go. And the figures come to prove it.
For instance, the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, available in the Ram 2500/3500 lineups, was the first in the segment capable of more than 1,000 pound-feet of torque. It pumps out 420 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet.
It also features an incredible towing capacity of 37,090 pounds, while the Tesla Cybertruck boasts about 11,000 pounds. The Cummins isn't going anywhere for the moment. The 6.4-liter V8 might also remain in the lineup.
The double-wishbone front suspension and five-link solid rear axle hold their ground. Ram reminds everyone that the brand has the highest owner loyalty of any half-ton pickup.
