It’s not all-new, nor is it the substantive mid-cycle refresh that should be coming in the next few years. But the 2026 Tundra will hit dealers in 2025 with cool updates to some of its best trims.
The 2026 Tundra TRD Pro Gets Some Key Upgrades
Like the Sequoia TRD Pro, the 2026 Tundra TRD Pro will add Toyota’s new yearly grade-specific TRD Pro color: Wave Maker. Toyota says it’s “inspired by unexplored areas of adventure” and “evokes images of glacial depths.” It is a refreshing pop of color after Toyota's focus on earth-tone colors like “Terra” and “Mudbath” lately. Wave Maker will also appear in the Tacoma and 4Runner lineups.
Buyers can now order the 2026 Tundra TRD Pro with the optional ISO Dynamic seats Toyota offers with the Tacoma TRD Pro. The ISO Dynamic front seats use an air-over-oil shock absorber system with tunable damping. The seats cushion against harsh blows and help occupants keep proper head and neck alignment while traveling over terrain at speed.
The lesser trims aren’t being left out of the off-road upgrades. Buyers can now add a TRD 3-inch lift kit and Tow Tech Package to the TRD Rally Package.
The 2026 Toyota Tundra Also Gets A Bit Fancier
Certain Tundra trims are getting an interior revamp. Toyota is giving the super-lux Capstone grade new Shale Premium Textured leather-trimmed seats. Toyota is also adding black and gray leather-trimmed seats to the Limited Grade. The black seats feature white contrast stitching, while the gray seats have black contrast stitching.
Toyota is also improving air flow in the lower trims. Double Cab models now get rear center console air vents. And Toyota is adding its smartflow management system to Tundras with single-zone climate control. What’s Not In The New 2026 Tundra
There are some expected Tundra changes that may arrive soon, but do not appear in the 2026 model. A key one is a Trailhunter grade. Trailhunter is a premium off-road alternative to the TRD Pro on the 4Runner and Tacoma. Toyota debuted Trailhunter at SEMA with a Tundra Trailhunter concept. So, we’d expect that grade to hit the Tundra lineup at some point.
The Tundra has not altered its powertrain lineup for 2026. The brand has mentioned exploring further electrification options for the Tundra, including a plug-in hybrid or all-electric powertrain. However, the 2026 model retains the twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 gasoline and hybrid engines.
How Much Will The 2026 Tundra Cost
Toyota has not announced pricing for the 2026 Tundra pickup yet. The base model truck starts at $40,090 for 2025, with prices extending up to $80,725 for the Capstone grade. Toyota hasn’t jacked up prices dramatically due to tariffs... yet. However, the brand has increased its destination and handling fee on the Tundra to $2,095.
