Hundreds of bike-modding shops have been featured on our website over the years, but there are some we keep coming back to over and over again. Although it doesn’t quite get as much attention as it deserves, Cardsharper Customs of Lublin, Poland is one such firm. The workshop is run by Jacek Mulak, who will never be satisfied with doing things by halves or taking any shortcuts.

What you’re seeing here is his take on the first-gen CB750 platform from Honda. Commissioned by a faithful customer from Berlin, the project began with a mildly reworked 1971 model in need of some TLC. As the conversion took place at the height of the pandemic in 2021, there was virtually no face-to-face interaction between Jacek and his client during the rebuild.

Thus, the owner would only get to see his ride once it was finished and delivered to his address. Cardsharper’s mastermind started by taking the classic CB apart and shortening its subframe to achieve tighter proportions out back. An LED taillight was integrated into the rearmost portion of the modded frame, and a handmade cafe racer tail unit has been placed up top.

Further ahead, we come across a black leather saddle fabricated by a local upholsterer, featuring a mesmerizing hexagonal stitch pattern we can’t get enough of. The new seat is fronted by the repurposed fuel tank of a Honda CB550, painstakingly adapted to fit the larger model like a glove. Bringing the updated bodywork full circle is a custom front fender, held in place by thin stainless-steel struts.

The mudguard lives in between a pair of upside-down forks, which were sourced from a Suzuki GSX-R along with its high-grade Tokico calipers. Aftermarket wave rotors round out the braking equipment at the front, but the CB750’s original hoops are still present at both ends. They were simply refurbished, painted black, and wrapped in retro-looking Dunlop tires, while the rear suspension gained adjustable modern shocks of aftermarket origin.

In the cockpit, one may find a tiny speedo and clip-on handlebars, wearing stylish grips, adjustable control levers, and underslung bar-end mirrors. There is a potent LED headlight mounted right in front of the cockpit area, together with compact aftermarket turn signals lower down. Complementing the motorcycle’s clip-ons are billet aluminum rearsets, and the Cardsharper treatment also made its presence felt in the powertrain sector.

Jacek had the 736cc inline-four engine rebuilt inside out, replacing the stock airbox with foam pod filters in the process. On the exhaust side of things, we see a custom four-into-one setup made of stainless-steel, and oil is now stored inside a tailor-made tank. Finally, the bike’s livery employs a black base, mesmerizing fuel tank graphics, and contrasting highlights on the carbs, rear drum brake, and some engine covers.
