Seller's comments about 2008' Honda Pilot 3.5 V6 Ex
The vehicle is 100% accident-free and checked before purchase, including: in the history of CARFAX and a physical paint thickness gauge. You can easily verify it again, I don't mind. The vehicle was imported from Germany in 2022. The chassis was almost showroom clean, without a gram of rust, even though it had not been specially protected against corrosion before. The effect of not using the car in winter when it was snowy and wet, so he didn't feel the road salt. In order to maintain this condition and at the same time be able to use it in winter, the vehicle was handed over to an experienced anti-corrosion workshop. After waiting for its due date, it was subjected to expensive but professional anti-corrosion protection, which is documented with an invoice and an entry in the service book. Since it was one of four cars owned at the same time, it was not used very intensively, about 3,000 km a year, as it covered 9,000 km in three years. Currently, both the body and chassis are still in very good condition with no rust. The interior is clean, well-kept, upholstery made of natural leather in the most practical dark gray color, preserved without any cracks, abrasions or holes. Rich version, including: heated seats, three-zone air conditioning, automatic transmission that works perfectly, excellent factory radio/CD sound system with a subwoofer, sunroof. It is a large family, very comfortable eight-seater vehicle with a trunk for three large suitcases or, after folding the last row of full-size seats, a five-seater with a huge trunk. It is comfortable to travel with, especially on longer routes. The vehicle uses the largest and most powerful 3.5-liter V6 Honda engine, which, despite not using any turbines, with its 247 HP and a weight of not even 2 tons, accelerates and moves incredibly efficiently and dynamically, sometimes astonishing other drivers who look at it and think that it is a slow, lumbering vehicle. Apart from this, the V6 works beautifully, maybe not as much as the V8, but in no way compared to 4 or 5 cylinder in-line engines. The vehicle was regularly serviced, which was documented in the service book. Mentioned, among others: during the year: new radiator, original Honda coolant, thermostat, new fan, new front tires. Within a month: shell engine oil, Bosch oil filter, front brake pads. A dozen or so days ago, while driving, the engine broke down, even though it was running and starting until the end, there was no problem with lubrication, no oil pressure/lubrication indicator light came on or even flashed, the engine temperature was normal, suddenly it started making a strange noise at the top, as if under the head cover closest to the front wall of the engine compartment. For fear of worsening the condition, it was extinguished and transported to the workshop in a tow truck for diagnosis. Restarted in the workshop for auscultation. Then, a camera view through the spark plug holes showed no damage to the piston bottoms, cylinder liner or rings. Inspection of the timing belt and rollers also did not reveal any looseness or damage (the complete timing + water pump have only 9000 km). Inspection of accessories on belts, including: power steering pump, etc., did not show any damage that could cause the above-mentioned noise. Removing the valve cover of the above-mentioned head also did not show any damage to the so-called keyboard (complete and undamaged valve springs, valve stems, levers, pushers, camshaft, etc. A photo of the oil pan showed the cause of the noise, on one of the cylinders in the above-mentioned head, the sliding bearing bush was damaged, exactly in the middle. It is not seized or rubbed, but it became loose and moved to spigot, which caused the above-mentioned noise. I don't really have the need or desire to repair it because, as I wrote, I have something to drive, so I decided to sell it as is. I deliberately do not put together the above-mentioned disassembled engine components so that I can carefully inspect the damage and assess the condition thoroughly with professional knowledge before making a purchase. If necessary, it is possible to issue a purchase invoice.
